| August 13, 2011: With Mar Macs' 50th Anniversary only a week away, this Saturday was set aside as general cleanup day for the Mar Mac Station 15 to receive a good cleaning inside and out. Bay doors open front and rear, fire apparatus are pulled out of the bays so that bays and storage areas can receive a good cleanup and wash down. Office areas, kitchen, bathrooms, upstairs lounge, bunk rooms, library/classroom received clean-up, organizing and trash removal. A thunderstorm and an unexpected 911 call made for a busy day. Firemen, officers,wives got the job done. |

| August 17, 2011: Now that Station 15 is clean inside and out, the Girls of Girl Scout Troop 824, Brogden Methodist Church are back at the station to clean the Trucks inside and out. Under the leadership of Miss Jill Baker, the girls prepare for the Big Day, Saturday, August 20, 2011 the 50th Anniversary of Mar Mac Volunteer Fire Department. All trucks receive interior cleaning plus a thorough scrub down of the exterior and windows. |

| August 26 - 28, 2011 Mar Mac Volunteer Fire Department, Wayne County Station 15 went into Emergency Standby Mode for the approaching Hurricane Irene. Rescue teams from Hendersonville and Ashville, bunked overnight in the Bunkrooms and gathered on the morning of the 27th to head-out for rescue missions in eastern North Carolina. ARR-MAC water rescue team was also deployed to a water search and rescue mission. Emergency operations ceased on the 28th. |
